Hydrogen is a simple molecule used in medical treatments because it can neutralize harmful oxygen waste in our bodies and reduce bad inflammation. This helps with many diseases related to oxygen waste, like when our intestines get hurt from a transplant, long-lasting inflammation, and injuries from lack of blood flow and then sudden return of it. Hydrogen is especially good for eye health, helping with several eye diseases by protecting the eyes in different ways. The studies covered in this paper show how hydrogen could be a new way to treat eye diseases, hoping to make our understanding of this element better and help discover new treatments for eye problems.
